It’s no coincidence that Shek Tong Tsui is ‘waking up’ again, with the extension of the MTR Island line into the Western District of Hong Kong. While a lot of development and change has happened in Sai Ying Pun and Kennedy Town, Shek Tong Tsui was somewhat overlooked and as a result, still maintains a lot of its neighbourhood characteristics and charm. Slowly but surely, the area is popping up with new restaurants and shops that are thoughtfully integrating itself into the existing community, building upon the Shek Tong Tsui’s fascinating history and surroundings.
