The original entrepreneurs of Hong Kong were the street hawkers scattered across the streets of the city selling all sorts of goods and foods. Through the times, they worked through government regulations, intervention, and competition. While you may not see so many on the streets these days, they play a significant part in shaping Hong Kong’s street culture, especially on the food front. At Yat Fu Lane, we’ve dedicated a specific “Hawker” unit to pay tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit that lives among the community – 20 sq ft of space that is just enough to pack in an innovative pop-up store, retail space or gallery.
